  49. 1.4 SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

  51.     A.  Design Requirements:
  52. NOTE ** Retain the following two sub-paragraphs if
  53.         performance specifying a Contractor-designed
  54.         system, inserting project requirements; delete if
  55.         structural design of system is in Contract
  56.         Documents.
  57.         1.  Vertical loads:  Roof panel system to withstand loads
  58.             imposed by roof panel system, and live loading of __
  59.             pounds per square foot (___ kg/sq m), uniformly
  60.             distributed.
  61.         2.  Snow loads:  Roof panel system to withstand snow
  62.             loads in accordance with requirements of local
  63.             authorities having jurisdiction; imposed snow load is
  64.             to be added to specified vertical loads when
  65.             designing roof panel system.
  66. NOTE ** Insert wind uplift resistance requirements in the
  67.         following sub-paragraph.
  68.         3.  Wind uplift:  Roofing panel system, including panels,
  69.             clips, and fasteners to meet requirements of UL Class

  107.             requirements of specified wind uplift requirements.
  108.         3.  Certificates:  Contractor's certification that:
  109.             a.  Manufacturer of roof panel system meets specified
  110.                 qualifications.
  111.             b.  Installer of roof panel system meets specified
  112.                 qualifications.
  113.         4.  Manufacturer's instructions:  Printed installation
  114.             instructions for each roof panel system component,
  115.             including product storage requirements.
  116.  
  117.     E.  Closeout Submittals:  Warranty documents specified in
  118.         WARRANTY Article of PART 1 of this section.

  120. 1.6 QUALITY ASSURANCE
  121. NOTE ** Insert qualifications requirements in the following
  122.         paragraph.
  123.  
  124.     A.  Qualifications:
  125.         1.  Manufacturer:  Minimum ___ years documented
  126.             experience producing roof panel systems similar to
  127.             that specified in this section.
  128.         2.  Installer:  Minimum ___ years documented experience
  129.             installing roof panel systems similar to that
  130.             specified in this section.
  131.  
  132. NOTE ** Delete the following paragraph if not required.
  133.  
  134.     B.  Pre-Installation Meetings:
  135.         1.  Convene at job site seven (7) calendar days prior to
  136.             scheduled beginning of construction activities of
  137.             this section to review requirements of this section.
  138.         2.  Require attendance by representatives of the
  139.             following:
  140.             a.  Installer of this section.
  141.             b.  Other entities directly affecting, or affected
  142.                 by, construction activities of this section.
  143.         3.  Notify Architect four (4) calendar days in advance of
  144.             scheduled meeting date.
  145.  
  146. 1.7 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
  147.  
  148.     A.  Store products of this section in manufacturer's unopened
  149.         packaging until installation.
  150.  
  151.     B.  Maintain storage area conditions for products of this
  152.         section in accordance with manufacturer's instructions
  153.         until installation:
  154.         1.  Store products above ground on elevated platforms;
  155.             incline platforms for moisture run-off.
  156.         2.  Ventilate between individual products to prevent
  157.             moisture condensation build-up.
  158.  
  159. 1.8 PROJECT/SITE CONDITIONS
  160.  
  161.     A.  Field Measurements:  When construction schedule permits,
  162.         take field measurements of areas to receive roof panel
  163.         system; indicate measurements on submitted shop drawings,
  164.         noting discrepancies.
  165.  
  166. 1.9 WARRANTY
  167. NOTE ** The following paragraph specifies a specimen
  168.         Special Warranty.  If retained, edit for project
  169.         requirements and coordinate with General Conditions
  170.         and Division 1; if combined warranty for
  171.         construction activities of other sections is
  172.         required, edit list in third paragraph and
  173.         coordinate with RELATED SECTIONS Article of this
  174.         section.
  175.  
  176.     A.  Special Warranty:
  177.         1.  The Contractor warrants construction activities of
  178.             this section, as installed, to be in accordance with
  179.             the Contract Documents and to be free from faults and
  180.             defects in materials and workmanship for a period of
  181.             three (3) years.
  182.         2.  Have warranty countersigned by representatives of
  183.             manufacturer and installer of this section.
  184. NOTE ** Delete the following two sub-paragraphs if combined
  185.         special warranty not required.
  186.         3.  Combine special warranty of this section with
  187.             construction activities, as installed, of the
  188.             following sections:
  189.             a.  Section 07210 - Roof Insulation.
  190.             b.  Section 07620 - Sheet Metal Flashing and Trim.
  191.             c.  Section 07720 - Roof Accessories.
  192.             d.  Section 07900 - Joint Sealants.
  193.         4.  Have special warranty countersigned by
  194.             representatives of installers of other sections

  197.     B.  Manufacturer's Warranty:  Manufacturer's warranty against
  198.         failure of roof panel due to rupture, structural failure,
  199.         or perforation due to exposure to normal atmospheric
  200.         corrosion; warranty period 20 years and 6 months.

  230.             sheet conforming to ASTM A 792/A 792M,Coating
  231.             Designation AZ55 (AZ 165), Structural Quality (SQ),
  232.             with clear acrylic coating both faces.

  234. 2.3 COMPONENTS

  280.             a.  Fascia.
  281.             b.  Closures.
  282.             c.  Panel terminations.
  283.             d.  Perimeter and termination flashings.
  284.         2.  Material:  Coated steel sheet, Grade 33 (230).
  285. NOTE ** Insert metal thickness requirement in the following
  286.         sub-paragraph.

  289.     F.  Joint Sealants:  Specified in Section 07900; type

  302. 2.4 FABRICATION
  303.  
  304.     A.  Fabricate indicated site-formed metal items to roof panel
  305.         manufacturer's specifications for factory-formed trim in
  306.         accordance with Architect-accepted shop drawings.

  309. PART 3  EXECUTION
  310.  
  311. 3.1 EXAMINATION
  312.  
  313.     A.  Verification of Conditions:
  314.         1.  Substrate is ready to receive roof panel system.
  315.         2.  Roof penetrations are completed.
  316.  
  317.     B.  Installer's Examination:
  318.         1.  Have installer of this section examine conditions
  319.             under which construction activities of this section
  320.             are to be performed, then submit written notification
  321.             if such conditions are unacceptable.
  322.         2.  Transmit two copies of installer's report to
  323.             Architect within 24 hours of receipt.
  324.         3.  Beginning construction activities of this section
  325.             before unacceptable conditions have been corrected is
  326.             prohibited.
  327.         4.  Beginning construction activities of this section
  328.             indicates installer's acceptance of conditions.

  330. 3.2 INSTALLATION
  331.  
  332.     A.  Install roof panel system components in accordance with
  333.         Architect-accepted shop drawings, and manufacturer's
  334.         instructions.
  335.  
  336.     B.  Installation of roof insulation is specified in Section
  337.         07210.
  338.  
  339.     C.  Installation of trim is specified in Section 07620.

  341.     D.  Installation of roof accessories is specified in Section
  342.         07720.

  347. 3.3 PROTECTION

  349.     A.  Protect installed products from damage by subsequent
